Russian Manicure Included

Every gel manicure starts with precise cuticle work, so your color sits right at the cuticle line.

HEMA-Free Gel

I use MGart gels, made without HEMA and TPO — HEMA is a common cause of gel nail allergies.

Shine That Lasts

A high-gloss, chip-resistant finish that typically holds up for two to three weeks.

What is a Russian manicure?

A Russian manicure is a dry manicure. Instead of soaking your hands, I clean the cuticle area with an electric file and fine bits. This lifts away the dead skin that builds up along the nail.

Because the nail plate is clean right up to the cuticle, the gel can go on closer to the skin. As a result, the finish looks sharper on day one. It also grows out more gracefully, so the gap at the base shows up later.

Many salons charge extra for this step. Here, it's simply part of every gel manicure.

Not sure which to book?

Gel polish or builder gel?

Gel manicure

Best if your nails are already healthy and strong. You get a thin layer of lasting color and a clean, natural look.

Builder gel

Best if your nails are weak, peel, or break easily. Builder gel adds structure, so it protects your nails as they grow. It can also be used for extensions if you want more length.

If your nails need extra support, read more about the builder gel manicure. Planning to match your toes? Pair this with a gel pedicure.

Gel manicure FAQs

What is a Russian manicure?

A Russian manicure is a dry manicure. Instead of soaking your hands, the cuticle area is cleaned with an electric file and fine bits, which lift and remove dead skin along the nail. As a result, gel can be applied right up to the cuticle line for a cleaner look that grows out more gracefully.

How long does a gel manicure last?

A gel manicure typically lasts two to three weeks. How long yours lasts depends on how fast your nails grow and how well you take care of them at home.

What's the difference between gel polish and builder gel?

Gel polish is a thin layer of color for nails that are already healthy and strong. Builder gel is thicker and adds structure, so it's the better choice for weak or brittle nails. It can also be used for extensions if you want more length.

Does a Russian manicure hurt?

It shouldn't. The technique is precise and gentle, and if anything ever feels uncomfortable, just say so and I'll adjust right away.

How do I get my gel removed or changed?

You can book Change Gel Polish to switch to a new color, or Remove Set if you want the gel taken off. Both are on the services menu and can be booked on Booksy.
